Heck, it was about time something changed. So I was working on this for quite some time now, testing changes in the database locally, because I remember what had happened the last time I fiddled with the database. Today, I made my initial commits to the Oramind site, which now abandons the classic Joomla backend and adopts a heavily modified one, by me, with security fixes, and many optimizations in terms of speed and effectiveness.
I also changed the theme, which will be the main theme from now on in Oramind. It took me long to build this, and I made sure that every component I used is extensible, so that I won't have to change the appearance of the site any more, every time that I need to add something to it.

Read more...iGreekNews 1.8, followed by iGreekNews HD 1.2.1 are out. I know I promised that I would deliver the updates sooner, but technical reasons kept me from doing so. Not to mention that I have been involved in some other projects, and I also had to upgrade my systems to use Lion, and Xcode 4.1.
iGreekNews for iPhone has several improvements, from which many of them are not visible to the end user. One of the most notable changes, however, is the support for Facebook and Twitter. I originally implemented those functions for the iPad, and I wouldn't do it for the iPhone, mainly because I didn't want how the UI elements would behave. I decided to wait before I make large changes to the code.

Read more...I just installed Fedora 15 on my macbook pro, and I must admit, Fedora using Gnome 3 is probably a step in the right direction in order to make Linux simpler and more intuitive to use. My dual-screen setup works out of the box both my Macbook Pro and iMac 2006 (both ATI and nVidia). However, one thing that was not working was the wireless drivers.
